Pollen Swirls

3/26/2023, land R, 9:15-11:00

Enlightening morning sun
Steam gently rises from Lake
Splendid array of birds singing jubilantly in unison
Geese call off in the distance
Mourning dove coos punctuate
Staccato knocking of woodpecker
Sparkling dew coats the bright green grass
White flowering trees
Pollen so invisibly thick, can taste it
Soft green rises higher in the tree line
Pelvis and femur bones in tree (…left by an owl?)
Cardinals dart across the path
Raucous geese mating rituals and claiming nesting grounds
Beaver swims, pacing back and forth, slapping his tail to splash and startle
(Maybe guarding to deter geese from nesting on his dam?)
Turtles line up on log soaking in sun
Pollen swirls on water’s surface
Domino rumble of turtles, alarmed from their rocks into water
Vibrant spring morning, bursting with life
