Silvery Water

Wind: 12mph from W
OC: 6

First cold fall morning (in the 40s!)
Sun attempts to peek through clouds
Silvery water reflects clouded sky
Sandbar in 3 more exposed -about 2/3 to 3/4 across
-Soon will slice lake in half
New flock of birds (American Coots) float closely huddled together
Wind-hushed crickets surround the lake
Beaver dam in 3 with even more progress
1 / 2 channel below bridge almost completely dry – walked board into 1 again
Incredible the rate at which the continues to water drop
1NW exposed branch now up to groin level
Cormorant on his perch, scared away today
-More branches of its submerged tree exposed
-Two young (?) cormorants staying near the adults perches
Almost no turtles today – only 1 or 2 brief glimpses
Water level drop so concerning, baffling – but Nature unfazed; accepting, adapting, persevering
