Busy Insects

8/20/2024, red L, 1:50-3:50pm

Cool lovely late summer day
Soft blanket of cricket sounds and breeze
Yellows emerging in lower shrubs
Sun-dappled trails
Doe with fawns gracefully bound through the forest
Iridescent bug gathers pollen from purple petals
Small scatterings of fallen leaves, occasional acorn
Creaking trees
Rattling, chiming, chirping, buzzing of the Prairie
Iron weed bursting purples
Prairie vibrates with busy insects, bees and butterflies
Funky bees with stormtrooper boots
Goldenrod emerging
Creeks all low at a gentle trickle
Velvet mole runs from hole to hole on limestone steps
So much beauty and consistent, constant change
