Sun shines brightly
Sweet little birds hop and chirp on the ground
Soft shiny-leafed trail
Remaining leaves gently rustle
Still, quiet, sleeping logs
New moss growth in sun-patched spots
-Despite the frosty cold
Striking green thorny vines amidst all the browns
Slick rocks in icy creeks
Such luscious shades of brown
-With creams, oranges chocolates and blacks
Orange and red berries decorate the browns
Crunch of lifted frozen ground
Oh, the sweetest Earthen scent of the Prairie!
Rhythmic echoing knocks of woodpeckers on peak of Redwing Trail
Greens of ferns push up through fallen leaves
Glistening sun-drenched twigs and branches
Water trickles under iced crystals
Such a peaceful gorgeous morning
