Beautiful windy morning
Leaves in trees bend and wave
Full green above
Scent of damp, rich earth
Lesser celandine now sparse with yellowed leaves
Daffodil leaves have lane to ground to feed what’s coming next
Everything smells so sweet and fresh – even in the creeks
Woodpecker percussion echoes
Wind gives voice to creaking trees and whooshing leaves
Green surrounds – above and all around
First red-eyed cicada buzzes past (brood XIV)
Gorgeous bird songs from all directions
Pollen, petals, green helicopters and new leaves sprinkle forest floor
Scent of rose fills the prairie’s entrance
White flowers of blackberry bush and multiflora rose
Peaceful gentle waving of new prairie grasses
More red-eyed cicadas sitting quietly on leaves
Bright red ladybug gleams in forest greens
So much new growth
Lovely wind enlivens, rustles, vibrates
