Gorgeous brilliant morning as morning fog evaporates
Paddle today to push out any remaining covid
Cirrus clouds streak the water’s surface
Turtles lift up leisurely to take a peak
First time paddling back on the gorgeous deep water of North Lake
Two tiny new islands, and sandbar now covered in grasses and flowering plants
Luscious, life-giving scents fill the North
Beaver dam in 1SE has grown impressively
Splashing sounds of jumping fish
Yellow finches bound through the air along the banks
Lake is more shallow than ever:
-increasing number of islands
-grass and mullein growing on what used to be sand bars
-higher than ever rock banks
My Green Heron waits on islands
Metallic bronze dragonfly drone hover and survey
No geese today, but floating evidence of feathers and puffs of down remain
Ever-enthralled by the bright yellow-orange dangly feet and the gorgeous brilliant navy blue of the green heron at take off
Slender iridescent aqua blue dragonflies travel in pairs
Such astonishing beauty
