Prickled Thistle

1/14/2023

Land L 10:50-12:50

Very cold, cloudy morning, biting wind
Prickled thistle standing at attention
Naked trees with nature’s ornaments
Icy cold fingertips
Blue sky trying to reveal itself
Beautifully tangled branches of the brush
Thistle whispers and cracks in the wind
Sun emerges to illuminate the soft fuzzy white and the cream-silvered flowers and to glisten the waters
Obsessed with the steadfast Thistle — calm, soulful inhabitants of the lake
Wood chips surround a beaver-chewed tree
Varieties of milk pods cracking open to release luxuriously soft white seeds
The Color Purple
Sun is now shining brightly, resolutely
Thankful for Mr. O on this lovely inspiring day
