Absolutely gorgeous morning
Sun shines brightly Illuminating, the new green
Soft green travels higher to the tops of trees
Birds of every kind sing out
Pale violet blue phlox line the trails
Red-headed woodpeckers call back and forth to each other
Spider webs glisten
Darkening sporophytes prepare for retreat back into lush green carpets
Eastern Towhee with its sweet song…and the white throated sparrow!
Zebra butterfly lifts silently from the trail
Surrounded by such variety of sweet floral scents
Gorgeous pink helicopters drop to trail from trees above
Surround sound buzzing in the fragrant greening Prairie
Prairie continues to drink in the recent heavy rains
Roses, greens, creams and soft yellows fill the Prairie
Red-winged blackbird lowers to the ground in majestic slow motion
Chipmunk gulping calls fill the forest
New, unfurling ferns
Startled by snake who darts out to cross the trail
Daffodil flowers gone, greens folding back down to start return into ground
Steadfast flow of fossiled creek
Lush shiny green floor just beginning to yellow
Immense beauty, intricacies and connectedness never cease to amaze
